If you type 'polka dot' into my blog's Search bar, you'll notice that I adore spotty items! From polka dot dresses, tops, culottes, tights, to many, many polka dot skirts, I'll admit that I may have a slight dotty obsession. Several months ago, I used polka dots in my Mint Mix 'n Match Nails, but - surprisingly, given my dotty fetish - I hadn't felt the urge to do all-over-fingers-and-toes polka dots until now. If you are averse to all things dotted, shield your eyes because you are about to witness the crux of my polka-mania!

~ I used a dotting tool to create the polka dots.
~ Background props: Tiffany leather diary, Swarovski lavender sprig, ASOS Cape Back Floral Dress (which sadly had to be returned!)
The colors I used were:
~ Fingernails: Essie Looking for Love
~ Toenails: Essie Mod Squad
~ Silver dots: Essie Loophole

It's actually a really subtle effect on the fingernails - from up close you can see the spots, but from far away it just looks glittery. Seeing as how this design took me all of five minutes, I'll definitely be nail-dotting again!

What does the dotting tool look like? I wonder if a tooth pick or ear swab would work. I don't paint my nails period because my hands are not steady enough for it.
ReplyDeleteYour nails are sooooo cute!♥

Adorable! I remember years ago an ad for nail polish where the model had black nails with white polka dots. Loved it.
