I think saris are extremely elegant and beautiful, and if I were any good at putting them on, I would wear one every day. Even if you're an expert at pleating and wrapping the sari, it's difficult to get it at the perfect length and to wrap the
pallo in a pretty way. Though I've been wearing saris since childhood, I still find it extremely difficult to put them on all by myself: the "lehenga sari" was invented for sari-strugglers like myself. With this type of garment, you get to skip the pleating and just wrap the sari around your body. Would you believe I
still had difficulty putting this on, even though it was a cheat sari? I guess I just need more practise!

ReplyDeleteMy native place in india is Rajasthan and whenever I go to my in-laws place, I wear saris but still I haven't got the hang of it properly and I have been wearing saris like this for almost 5 years now and i still struggle :) :)
You look gorgeous! I love your saree too. I think I manage to wear sarees pretty well on my own, unless its a very heavy saree. Then I definitely need a little help!

You look stunning!! That frilly one sleeved blouse is a great idea. Am terrible at draping sarees and even worse at walking with them on. I remember having tripped on the staircase at school wearing a saree (it was really embarrassing ). But these lehenga sarees are really a boon for people like us who love sarees but are not-so-good at putting them on.
